Cooold
It's getting cold outside now :) And it is getting very visible in Nannas wardrobe. An impulsive walk at 11 in the evening isn't that warm anymore. So more layers of clothes are added, together with lot's of warm knitted acessories!
I have to admit, that at this time at night, I stay indoor!! Arrrr well, not the night where Nanna and I sat outside in the garden chairs, with cosy blankets and warm clothes, just to see a huge amount of shooting stars! ;)
But well, if she really wants to walk around with layers and a denim jacket.... I could as well use her fairly new parka coat.... It's may as well warm my butt!!! :)

This is what happens
Look - This is what happens when shopping on an empty stomac! ;) So many temptations, when walking by the book section at Bilka!!
I looove cookbooks and find it very very hard not to buy them :) At least I have to look just a little bit....
Most of them will be used a lot. Others are mostly there to inspiration. But often I really just need people to eat my cakes and dinners :D

New hair
Well a "please just take a quick snapshot of my hair" doesn't do anything good for my feeling of hating to be photographed. ;) But will, I promised an aftershot, so here it is.
I now have lot's of different lenghts in my hair, a little shorter, and asymetric bangs. The colors are new for me, I usually end up with a dark brown, with a shade of another brown or black in it.
But this time, I've got 5 different colors in it. A black underneath it all... you can see it on my shoulders. And then 4 colors: Orange, red and a shade of grey/light and a golden brown.
For the first time, in a looong time, I actually went home, with a good feeling and a: Okay, this can be good :)
I always get an idea for my hair, that never will be done, or I just end up with a boring version of it . But this time more colors were added. And something that actually looks like a haircut and not just staight bangs and straight in the back.
So maybe next time, I will add even more colors!
But for now, I am happy with the warm golden colors, for this grey winter :)

Pride !
Today I became a "substitue-aunt"!!! ;) My best friend gave birth to a beautiful daughter today. She is sooo cute and pretty :) And yep, I am so proud of them! Think about it.... isn't it a wonder that we as humans, can make such a miracle?
Calm now, I am not thinking about a baby again ;) But I am impressed and very proud on their behalf. And happy that I had the opportunity to follow her all the way through. And to be amongst the first ones to see her, only a few hours old :)
Back almost 18 years ago, when I gave birth to Nanna... I was put through general anaesthesia, right after I gave birth to her. SO I don't remember a lot from the first day... and I was too tired to really enjoy. But now I am just looking, enjoying, looking, smelling her tiny head, and just taking it all in :) And I enjoy it sooo much!
The proud new big sister, was so cute today. "Look, there's my new baby sister"; she pointed proud. And "Look, flowers for mum!", as she showed the flowers she brought for the new parents. She is in a funny age right now... telling so many funny stories.
As today, when she was told about her new baby sister and her new title as Big Sister! "But I can still fit my shoes?!, she said, very confused. Hahaha so funny.... I guess she thought she would wake up, as big as her bonus-bigsister ;) Strange world huh?
But what a great day.... getting up to sunshine a new little worldcitizen!

Grandma
On the 2nd of october, my grandma could have had her birthday. She is very missed and she have ment the world to me in my life. She was one of those very positive people, you never heard her complain about nothing, never said anything negative or leant back and said: I can't do that. Never!
Grandma was my number one! Grandma was the one who were ready, after I got home from school, with a nice talk, a hug, a bowl of fruitsoup with cream, a warm lovely smile, some positive words and enough patience to teach me how to knit... even though I was not very good at it!! ;) She just smiled and showed me again and again and again.
Grandma was also a woman with an amazing ability to grow plants. All over their home you would find beautiful flowers. If she was out on a trip, she couldn't help herself but to "borrow" a little sprout, just to bring it home and grow an amazing new plant.
Grandma and grandpa (Grandpa is still with us and he turns 96 on december 1st, and he is still driving his own car :) A person to be proud of), sometimes took us on a camping trip. That have brought me lots of memories. Once they picked up me and my brother and my two cousins, and drowe for a long while and stopped by a small forest. We went for a walk and had lots of fun. Grandpa made us some willow tree whistles and grandma brought lemonade and cake. We simply had a great day! And we were convinced that we have been far far away ;) Later on, years later, we found out that we had been only a few miles from town ;)
Grandma was there for us during christmas too... we were baking small christmas pepper biscuits and small cookies shaped as animals... and then we decorated them with colored icing. Not very pretty but deffinately funny!
So the other day, with my dear grandma in my thoughts, I bought the figure above. It's called "Rememer - Always I will remember" and is from the company Willow Tree by Susan Lordi. I bought my first one, last year, while Nanna was in USA and have been in love with them for a long long time. They are so cute and really shows emotions in a beautiful way.
And very soon I will get another one... actually with grandma in my thought as well. A little girl holding a bouquet of forget-me-nots in her hands (you'll see it on their website, on the front page) Grandma loved those tiny flowers and had them on their terrace. And often you'll see a small bouqet of them, on her grave. A pretty tiny flower, wich always makes me think about my grandma :)

Ribe city
I just want to share a few photos, from our visit to Ribe too. Ribe is a fantastic great city, with pretty small houses, old houses.... looking like a really old city. You almost expect to see horses with wagons, walking through the city.
But because of the art show and a market in the city, it was extra funny to visit. There were piles of straw, old wooden wagons and so on.... And fruits were sold directly from the back of old wooden wagons...how great is that?! :)
The weather was so perfect, as I wrote yesterday. You could just walk around with your summer clothes on, and feeling so very warm. So we chose to sit by the small creek, in the hay, eating an icecream.
Look, a huge icecream with softice and som sugar sweet stuff I don't know what is called in english. :) SOOO delicious! So after that, and a Chai latte on a local coffee shop, we went to look at the starling magic.
But first, before ice, we went to see the local church, an artshow and a marketplace.
Look what I found on the artshow ;) Isn't that great? That will be some very spoiled birds who will eat from that one!!
The idea is great... I wonder if I should do something similar with my mussel?
The surroundings were awesome. An old monastery was housing the art show, with everything from glass art, to cheramics and felt.
But after all the looking at art, church and drinking latte, we went to see the birds... Fantastic day!! :)

Yummy
Yummy, after a loong month without buying anything, like clothes or junk, I was very proud and wanted to spoil myself a bit. So I bought two cans of Chai :)
Wow, that is so nice!! The Orange Tiger Spice Chai, I knew from earlier. But the brown Power Chai, I did not know, so I had to try it. So two cans went home with me, from the teahouse "Thehuset Andersen", yesterday.
Often I have thought about making my own chai. But never really found a great recipe or found a recipe with ingredients I couldn't find :) Maybe because my brain tells me that Tiger Spice Chai, is REAL Chai ;)

Silk screen printing
For a looong time, I have been dreaming about learning how to do my own silk screen prints!!! And now I guess it's time to explore this world.
Does any of you readers know how to do this? Do you have any materials like frames or something, that you want to share with me? Either to lend me or sell to me? :)
Maybe you even know about a book for Dummies, that could be very good to start with?
I am best with just doing things, or to watch it been done :) And since I can't efford an expensive weekend on a course, some place in Denmark, I am ready to learn by doing at home, or at your place.(In denmark ofcourse)
Anyone? :)
If it is of any significance for you to know what I wan't to print on, it is both T-shirts and canvas and paper :)

Yawn
It's pretty hard to start up school again... just saying! And new job at the same time. So some of Nannas days now starts at 6 in the morning and ends around 10.30 in the evening... and that's without homework. So she is pretty tired these days... a long summer holliday is over :)
During this rough start I am a little mom-nice, and helps her out where possible. I drive her between school on working days. But after a while with the new routines, I will back off and let her manage on her own.
Oskar, on the other hand, enjoys the moments where Nanna is hitting the couch :) Then it's time for a cozy moment in Nannas arms. That cat has an abillity to purr so loud you can't believe it!
And me? I am up very very early ... at least compared to my normal days ;) But on the other hand, I got to see the moon on a blue sky today.... that doesn't happen very often!
BTW, it's NOT very easy to photograph the moon during daytime :) The colors are very pale and without contrast. But at least I tried...
Well I have a lot to do today, so I better get up off this chair and get going :) Have a nice day!

The Bilka girl
Today was Nannas first day at her new job, at Bilka in Kolding :) So she went home today, slightly used up but yet positive!
I guess it have been a pretty hard day with a lot of standing up and walking.... Plus learning new stuff. But positive, because it was a good day with super nice people...
But she wasn't more beaten than a visit at her friend felt like the thing to do, after she went home! So now I just sit here, looking at a gift she and all the employees got at work today... a whole bucket of candy!!!!
I wonder if I am allowed to grab a piece or maybe a small hand full? ;) It is really tempting!!
None the less, I hope tomorrow at work, will be as great as today! :)

Spoilt
When beeing sick and feeling sorry for yourself, you are allowed to spoil yourself with something great, right? This delicious looking box is now sitting on the table, whispereing: "Open me, see what's inside"
And you don't need to know me that well, to know that I am very very much in love with everything with chokolate. ;) In every way possible.... And no matter my mood or if I am sick or not!
Yummy, the box contains 3 "Cream puffs" (I am not sure this is the right word for Flødebolle) with marzipan, 1 with raspberries and 2 normal ones.... For me only! :) And I promise that if I can't taste them very well, because of my cold making everything taste the same, I will save them for tomorrow.... They are too good to eat without the maximum joy!

Grøn Koncert
Finally, today we went to Grøn Koncert (Translated: Green koncert) in the neighbour city Kolding. :) YAY it was awesome!!
Personally, my only wish were to listen to Kashmir!!! I love their music... and okay a bonus is that Kasper, the lead singer is pretty cute! ;) But okay, Kato, Medina, TV2and De eneste to, among others was great too!
And we were sooo lucky. The weather was great... no rain and pretty warm. At the beginning, that is ;) Will I ever learn to remember my jacket???? I guess not! ;)
But hey, should I get a cold out of this, it's okay!! Kashmir was worth it! Nanna is not sick with some cold or something... I picked her up at the camp she attended all week. And she had a red face and her eyes showed signs of fever. And before she went home with me, some guys grabbed Nanna and dumped her in a pool with cold water ;) And after that they had a "water-fight" ( is there a word for that?)..... So that probably didn't make it any better. So now she went to bed with hot tea, strepsils, nose spray and with less voice than normal :) I hope she will be feeling much better tomorrow... or we might have to see the doc. !
But all in all a super awesome day!!!! So now I will go to bed while having Kashmir music in my head ;)

Glass and hibernating
Sismofytter
Winter is here. The cold is getting worse and it's cold inside too. The darkness is heavy and dense. Do I need to say that I am closing in on hibernation?
It is easy to feel it now... energy is low and the urge to make creative things are a little heavy. It does not scare me at all... I am used to this feeling during winter. But it is still annoying. Because it IS the creative stuff that normally makes me smile :)
But I do get something done. I still attend glass and that is my joy of the week ;) I have made these "Sismofytter" on the photo up above. They are in my kitchen, making me smile when I walk by. Who wouldn't smile over these faces?
But other than these glass things, I don't get much done. A big dish/plate is on it's way from idea to real thing. It is cut in long pieces layed together and then burned into a huge heavy plate.
But other than glass I don't get much more than alittle knitting here and some crocheting here, done. But nothing that you haven't seen before. :) A bach of wallets here, and some mobile puches from Kastaniestrik, there.
I do feel the winter is getting under my skin, ruining my creative feeling, and I am getting a social-creative person. Do you know that feeling? Or am I the only person who makes most, together with other creative girls, during winter? :)
Today I will relax... doing nothing at all. I feel that I have been doing something EVERY day for a while now. Nothing tough... but enough to make my body ache and telling me to stop NOW ;)
(The photo above is a mobile photo.... normally they kind of sucks, but this one is better, as I've got a new phone. The old one rebooted in the middle of an sms or a conversation. And this new one is much better, making better photos. :) )

Still alive and kickin'
And I do get something done :) BTW my butterfly is done and is just waiting for me to mount it in the same way than my Dragonfly! Only my fingers haven't been fit for fight yet.
Other than that I have been making more clutches and wallets from pull tabs! Soon there will be x-mas and a lot of fairs.
But these days I don't get that much done. Because ofcourse now that we're in the middle of a weekend, I've got a toothache... and not just that, but a swollen face. To have trouble with tooth sucks, so say it in a nice way! Why do some people have to have so much troubles with them?
But well, after a weekend with only youghurt, I can't wait for the dentist to open up.
Besides that, I was close to get a little house this week. But sadly a person got it just seconds before I did. Sadly because I were sooo ready to decorate the house and the garden! But well... better luck next time! :)
And then I cross my fingers to get something creative done soon... something new. Or maybe a photoshoot outside! Anybody who want's to come along?

My week
Even though I haven't been writing that much in here, I have been pretty active. At last I digged out my painting supplies, and that is a task on it's own :)
Actually I started with the painting below, but it ended up in a corner. Nothing would end up as I intended. What's wrong with it, I can't really say.... so it's still waiting.
After that I picked a new canvas and made the one above. That one ended up as I wanted it. It's almost like she's sitting in a grove, behind lot's of leaves. But I have a minor painters block, there is sooo much I want to do, but my skills isn't good enough. :)
But I'll just have to keep on trying more often. Or maybe end up taking a course, to learn some of the techniques I want to learn so much.
Also I have found some stones for the seagulls. One set is already on their way to a new owner. I hope they'll like them.
They have been funny to do and ended up quite good. The stone really makes a difference.
Tonight I have been out on a really womens night out. In our neighbour city there were a great fair, with our local shops, with both clothes, shoes, jewelry, hair dressers, massage, reflexology, psychoanalysis, clairvoyances, art and last but not least a great dinner for us all.. and all of it for WOMEN ONLY! :)
Surtainly something I could use more often! There were sooo many things I wanted to either by or try. But ended up with a finger ring only :) I also wanted to try massage, relexology and a hair dresser... but but but... money doesn't grow on trees.
But I did try the handwriting psychologist/ psychoanalysist... scary so precise she were. Both with ages, thoughts, personal stuff, and dreams... I still have goose bumps alle over. It's wasn't shallow information that everybody could guess, but really deep and personal stuff, so you wonder on how she could possibly know, from five lines om handwritten, random texst.
Well then I got to try that too :)
And together with the good food and wine, fruit/cheese and bread, it was a blast :) And last but not least, with a bunch of women :)

This is a try
For a looong time, I have been thinking about an english part of my site "A knitting chick says"! Now I will try it this way, instead of writing both in Danish and English right underneath eachother.
I hope you like it!
I hope you like it!
Sønderborg and guests from NZ
Old mill
Sønderborg Slot
The beach where we got to sit for a moment.
Sønderborg slot and the old bridge
And the bridge goes up...
No matter what, I had a great time and we got to talk about a lot of great things. And we ended the day with a glass of wine by an open-air cafe down town Sønderborg. If there were any open-air cafes in my own little village, I would use it a lot!
Old streets
Thank you for a very nice and cozy afternoon Henriette :) Very nice to see you again !!
